I was a wayward youth and got into trouble with the law in the early 90’s. That’s how I met Mr. Kilpatrick. He was maintenance man and trustee guard at Lake Providence. One of nicest guys I ever met. He always preached to me to be a good person. I was on a work detail with him and Shane Bryant and neither ever made me feel less important. Mr. Kilpatrick inspired me. I now live in Ohio and have a wife and 2 beautiful boys. I’m also a supervisor where I work. I have to say the time with him help shape me into a better person. I only wish I had let him know. Goodbye Mr. Kilpatrick.

Sorry to hear the news of Gerald's passing. Condolences and prayers for the family. I have many fond memories as a child of my family joining the Kilpatricks and several other families for fish frys and social gatherings in Bastrop. Gerald: God speed!
