Funeral services for Mrs. Glenda Adams Hales are scheduled for 2 PM Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Post officiating. Interment will follow in Bonne Idee Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 PM - 2 PM service time. Mrs. Hales was born April 13, 1939, in Bastrop, LA and passed away Sunday, May 8, 2022. She was a very industrious wife and mother. Glenda was a servant to her Lord, she served as pianist and song director at Collinston Assembly of God for years, as well as Victory Assembly of God at Four Forks where she raised her children in the house of the Lord. She was a wonderful cook and used her gifts to serve in the Kingdom and she cooked at many church functions. Mrs. Hales was the cook at King's Camp in Mer Rouge for several years. She would also travel to New Mexico to serve for a month of Bible School in the Summer for the Navajo Nation. She and her sister Omega would cook and serve all the children and staff. She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Johnson of Monroe, LA, Beverly Edwards (Todd) of Crossett, AR; sons, Thomas “Tommy” (Charlotte) of Bastrop, LA, William “Bill” Hales (Rita) of Baskin, LA, Robert “Hoss” Hales (Christy) of Bastrop, LA; niece-in-law, (wife of Doyle) Judy Hales of Haughton, LA; sister, Omega Bienz of Collinston, LA; fifteen grandchildren, Randall Walker, Amanda Walker, Wesley Johnson, Jeremy Defee, Maranda Johnson, Kelsee Hales, B.J. Hales, Nikki Holmes, Amanda Crawford, Melissa Thornhill, Jacob Hales, Tyler Hales, Mauri Hales, Amelia Hales, Jesica Fonville; thirty-six great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Hales is preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Clayton O. Hales; infant daughter, Sharon “Shari” Elizabeth Hales; son, Richard “Dicky” Allen Hales; parents, Thomas H. And Lillie Kendrick Adams; brothers, Dugan Adams, Gene Adams, and Charles Adams; sister, Mildred Adams Freeman; and a nephew, whom she loved as a son, Doyle Hales. Serving the family as pallbearers will be grandsons, Randall Walker, Wesley Johnson, Jeremy Defee, Jacob Hales, Josh Crawford, and Tyler Hales. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Naff, Todd Edwards, Josh Thornhill, and Wesley K. Johnson. The family would like to thank Dr. V.J. Tanjavar, whom we grew to love and trust, for his compassionate care for our Mother and to Lagniappe Health Care for taking exceptional care of her for the short time she was with them, and also to Premier Hospice for the special care given to our Mom.
