We only recently started to get to know each other even though we lived close by. We watched movies & would just talk until daybreak. He was a solid man & fought for everything he had. Always putting others first, never asking for help or being a victim, he lived & died on HIS terms. I can't stop thinking about him and if I could have been a better friend than I was. Rest peacefully, my friend. You will forever have a special place in my heart.

I'll always remember Wayne Allen for having the biggest heart. He was a good man that loved his family, was loyal to his friends, and never took himself or the worst part of life too seriously.
I have been close with the Grays for over forty years and though my friendship was with Elton, Wayne Allen was always just like a brother too. I have many good memories of Wayne Allen, but I think the best memories I have of him is when he played his guitar and sang at many of the Gray family celebrations that I was lucky enough to attend.
He had a knack for sounding just like the artists that recorded the songs. (There were times that Wayne Allen talked and I could understand or follow, but when he put his voice to music it was crystal clear.) Man could he sing Merle Haggard... and as I write this I can hear Wayne Allen singing Merle's "My favorite Memory of All". How I wish I could hear him sing that one more time.
To all his family and friends, I wish I could be there with you all to celebrate his life; and I really hope that Tuesday's service does just that... celebrate Wayne Allen. Tears should be few, despite his early departure. He was a good man, that loved so many and was loved by many and he lived a full life. If I was there, I would certainly raise a glass of Jack and toast another one of the great Gray men that left us too early. I love you Wayne Allen. Hoping you are tipping one back with your brothers and Father.
