Visitation for Mrs. Joan Johnston, age 90, of Beekman, Louisiana, will be held at Beekman Methodist Church, Crossett Highway, Beekman, Louisiana, on Thursday from 1:00 pm until time of service on December 21, 2023. Graveside services will follow at the Beekman Cemetery on Beekman Cemetery Road. at 2 PM. Rev. Paul Laird will officiate, and Bro. Tim Post will sing.
Mrs. Joan was a long-time member of the Beekman Methodist Church which she dearly loved. Mrs. Joan touched the lives of many people as a nurse, and as a sitter in both nursing homes and in private service. She was a chef. She enjoyed crafts, especially ceramics. She loved animals from hummingbirds to dogs and everything in between.
Mrs. Joan was born in Warren, Arkansas, on May 3, 1933, and passed into her new life on December 18, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Hanson Binns and Annette Mosley Binns; husband Harold Johnston; brothers, Charles Hanson Binns, Jr., and Billy Don Binns, Jr.; children, Charles Plummer Johnston and Robert Bryan Johnston; and great grandchildren, Joseph Edward (Eddie) Repp, Joshua Dale (Dale) Repp, and Micah Brant Dew.
Mrs. Joan is survived by her brother, Richard Dale Binns and wife Phyllis; her children, Charlotte Ann Johnston Repp and husband Mike, Donald Lynn Johnston and wife Kerri, and Harold Leon Johnston, Jr. and wife Angela; grandchildren, Joshua Repp and wife April, Dylan Repp and wife Anette, Brandee Johnston Dew husband Wayne, Daniel Laing, Donald Lynn Johnston, Jr. and wife Alyssa, Kelly Johnston Bennett, Harold Leon Johnston III (Trey), Zachary Robert Johnston and wife Kaitlyn, and Tyler Charles Johnston and wife Alex. Great grandchildren; Christene Arianah Repp, Draco Alistor Repp, Halee Thames and husband Kohner, Kayne Dew and wife Taylor, William Hays (Hays) Bennett, Rhett Lee Johnston, Jackson (Beaux) Johnston, John Robert Johnston, Lola Grace Johnston, and Georgia Sue Johnston. Great great grandchildren; Aria Mary Repp, Isabella Lucille McGinley and Deklyn Wayne Thames. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Diana Inzina, Barbara O’Fallon, Anette Repp, and Rev. Paul Laird and his wife Celia. The family requests that instead of providing food that donations be made to Beekman Methodist Church.
