Funeral services for Mr. Millage “Rod” Sanders, age sixty-seven, are scheduled for 2 PM Saturday, January 13, 2024 in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Kennedy officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held Saturday from 12 noon until 2 PM service time. Rod retired in January of 2023 as Senior Specialist after fifteen years with Siemans Energy in Deer Park, TX. Some of his other jobs he held were with Advantage Labor Company, as a Millwright in Katy, TX, 20 years as Service Manager at Scott Tractor Company in Bastrop, LA, a structural welder at Distran in Tioga, LA, a Millwright at G.E., and he also served as Sergeant for four years (1976-1980) with an Honorable Discharge, as Structural Repair Specialist at England Air Force Base in Alexandria, LA. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and antiquing. Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Victoria Sanders; mother, Mary Sanders; children, April Agent and husband, Michael of Deville, LA, Stephanie Brown and husband, Doug of Ada, OK, Kristy Sanders of Bastrop, LA; sibling, Amy Allen and David of Saginaw, TX; grandchildren, Autumn, Haile, Dillin, Mallory, Landon, Emily, Gentry, Hayden, Dalton, Matthew, Kristn and Layne; great grandchildren, Kaston, Easton, and Harper; nephew, Hoyt; niece, Felecia; special friends, David Nichols, Big Mike Anderson, and Quinton Edwards.; and grand pups, Bentley and Brinlee. He is preceded in death by his father, James Millage Sanders; siblings, Vickie Gregory, Kim Mallard; grandson, Roman Rusk; and brother-in-law, Mark Mallard. Serving the family as pallbearers will be, David Nichols, Bobby Vail, Steve Barnhill, Mike Patterson, Bruce Patterson, and Michael Agent. Honorary pallbearers are Billy Bunch, Doug Brown, Dillin Brown, Landon Sanders, Dalton Hicks, Hayden Brown, Matthew Agent, and David Allen.
