I met Shirley when I took Robert down to see her & Whoopie. She welcomed me as a long lost friend tho we had just met. She taught me how to cook her gumbo, and I still do. We kept in touch though Facebook & because Robert doesn’t read, I would relay their thoughts to each other. Robert loved her dearly & she always treated him with kindness & forebearance of his handicaps.
There are Angels among us & she Truly was!
Mine & Roberts condolences to her family & friends.
Rest in Peace Shirley, you will be missed.

Words can’t express how truly shattered my heart and soul feels.
I can’t pretend to know how the afterlife works…
But I hope that you are with Whoopie, Dad, Mammaw and Pappaw enjoying eternal peace with our creator.
You deserve to be among the highest ranks of heaven for your charity, love and commitment that was given to people, loved ones and your community.
The sacrifices made for the benefits of others and the strife you had to endure from people that should have never crossed that line.
You deserved so much better in this life.
The appreciation you are owed is eternal.
Though you’ve gone home, You aren’t forgotten.
As those of us left here are in sorrow, we celebrate a new eternal life without the pains of this world.

MS. Shirley was my godmother. I have been told many stories from when I was a little girl. They both loved me and i loved them. I wish I would have spent more time with her. She was such a special lady.

I will always remember Shirley to be such a kind and caring person. She was always there when I needed her during my time of need when I lost my first husband Jerry Wayne Bonner in September 1980. She helped me with my girls whenever I asked. She was also such a wonderful person to just listen to me as I went through my time of grief. My prayers are with her surviving brothers.
