Homegoing services for Mr. Kenneth Ray Dye are scheduled for 10 AM Thursday, May 30, 2024 at Gethsemane Land Mark Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Shawn Shoulders and Bro. Phillip Brawner officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Golden Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 5 PM - 8 PM at the church. Mr. Dye, a resident of Bastrop, LA, born July 30, 1951, passed away at home on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the age of seventy-two. He was an active member of Gethsemane Land Mark Missionary Baptist Church for over forty-five years. Mr. Dye served Morehouse Parish as Police Juror for District 3 and was a retired carpenter, farmer, and welding inspector. He was a loving husband, father, pa, son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Linda Arrington Dye; son, Jamie Walker (Kara); daughters, Ashley Jones (Stevie), and Misty Dye Cox, all of Bastrop, LA; grandchildren, Josh Walker, Robby Jones (Tierra), Amanda Cowan (Newt), Kaley Kitchens (Caleb), Jacob Walker, and Kori Raye Cox; great grandchildren, Brilee Walker, Dallen Walker, Caleb Green, Lilah Cowan, AnneMarie Jones, Hudsyn Cowan, and Charlee Cowan; brother, Joe Dye (Barbara) of Mer Rouge, LA; sisters, Sue Rainbolt-Tatum, Diane Ragus (Jerry) of Acworth, GA, and Toni Barkley (Mike) of Monroe, LA; sister-in-law, Becky Arrington Bonner (Gary) of Bastrop, LA, Deloris Dye of Bastrop, LA, Becky Dye of Farmerville, LA, Sharon Dye of Bastrop, LA, Janice Dye of Bossier City, LA; Sylvia Dye of Crossett, AR; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Dye is preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Green and Annie Lee Russell Dye; grandson, Jerad William Walker; sister, Peggy Joyce Dye; and brothers, John, Gene, Harry Lee, Bobby, and Jerry Dye. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Josh Walker, Robby Jones, Jacob Walker, Bardell Bostick, Charles Franklin, and Heath Eppinette. Mr. Dye’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Scott Barron and the staff at Northeast Louisiana Cancer Institute, Jason Hoskins, FNP with CommuniHealth Services in Mer Rouge, LA, and Compassus Hospice in Monroe, LA.
