The eulogy I wrote and read for my sisters funeral- Not something I ever thought in a million years I would do but felt that I needed to.
Missi left us a legacy of Love.
A sister, a daughter, a mother, a grandma too.
This is the legacy we have from you.
You taught us love and how to fight.
You gave us strength, You gave us might.
A stronger person would be hard to find
And in your heart, you were always kind.
You fought for all of us in one way or another
Not just as a sister, not just as a mother.
For all of us you gave your best
Now the time has come for you to rest.
So go in peace, you’ve earned your sleep Your love in our heart we’ll forever keep.
So don’t think of her as gone away. Her journey has just begun. Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of her as resting from the sorrows and the tears, in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how she must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. Think of her in the hearts of those she touched.
For nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much. I am overcome with gratitude that God loaned my precious sister to me for a time.
Thank you for the memories Missi. I’ll love you til the end of time.
