Funeral services for Debra Carr May are scheduled for 10 AM Saturday, October 12, 2024, in the chapel of Golden Funeral Home, with Bro. Allan Eppinette officiating. Interment will follow in Bartholomew Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 11, 2024, from 5 PM – 7 PM at Goldens.
Mrs. May was born on September 20, 1966, and passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the age of fifty-eight. She was a resident of Bastrop, LA, and a school bus driver for Morehouse Parish schools until 2014, when she moved to Haughton, LA. There, she drove a school bus for Bossier Parish schools and worked as a pre-school teacher at Cornerstone Childcare, where she later became office manager. Mrs. May was fully dedicated to the children she taught, and each child that stepped foot on her school bus! She was a loving mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She never missed an event that her grandchildren were apart of! Mrs. May will be missed greatly by her family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
She is survived by her daughter, Misty May Garrison, and husband Andrew; son, Yancy May, and wife Lauren; nephew, Buddy Simms; grandchildren, Lilly Claire Garrison, Molly Kate Garrison, Ace Garrison, Charlie Lynn May, and Crew May.
Mrs. May is preceded in death by her husband, Yancy May; parents, Jack and Lillian Carr; and mother-in-law, Nellie May.
Serving as pallbearers will be Carson Crouch, Ray Tyson, Todd Herrington, Adam Deshazo, Jeffrey Smith, and Harvey Ramshur.
