A celebration of life visitation for William (Bill/Stick) Crawford Atkins, age seventy-two, of Downsville, LA will be held Wednesday, November 6, 2024 from 1 PM - 3 PM at Golden Funeral Home.
Bill was born on October 30, 1952 in Bastrop, LA. He attended Harmony Baptist Church where he enjoyed working with the Youth group, while he was a resident of Bastrop. He loved his past time with his many canine’s for all his life. Bill’s favorite thing was anything outdoors which included hunting, fishing, and mechanics. Bill was amongst the start up of the spectacular Stink Creek Horseshoe Tournament in Swartz, LA, with all of his many talented friends. He always looked forward to traveling with his only brother (Ronnie) to Colorado Elk hunting which was a traditional annual event. His life was full of adventures.
He is survived by the love of his life, Cheryl Johnston Atkins; step-daughter, Kelly Johnston Bennett; step-grandson, William Hays Bennett; father-in-law, Joe Riley; mother-in-law, Geneva Riley; brother, Ronnie Atkins and wife, Sonya, along with brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Buford (Stick) and Emma Crawford Atkins.
The family of Bill Atkins would like to express our sincere thank you to Dr. Billy Branch and the friendship and care of Dr. David Bryan and wife, Beverly Bryan.
